MTP 5 is an instrument for remote sensing measurement of air temperature profiles from the ground to a height of 1000 meters. This ground-based system is commonly used for research on air pollution, atmospheric stability, and climatology. MTP5 is a completely passive microwave radiometer that is particularly stable and compact. The determination of temperature profile is based on thermal radiation measurements at different elevation angles. Fully functional software completes instrument control, data collection, storage, display, and quality assurance of data.

MTP5 responds quickly and can monitor the development and transformation of atmospheric inversion over time. MTP5 can be quickly and easily installed, and is also easy to transport to different locations.
